General information
The Faculty of Philology may be regarded as one of the oldest faculties of University of Belgrade, although it only opened as an independent faculty in 1960. Its origin dates back to 1808, when the Serbian and German languages were taught at the Grand School. The philology disciplines continued to develop within the Faculty of Philosophy up to 1960, when the Faculty of Philology became independent of the Faculty of Philosophy and moved to a new building at its present address. The two Faculties still have ties, because the oldest Department, which is the Department of Serbian Language, has remained at Captain Misa`s Building.

The Faculty offers a four year course and to date, 23,000 students have graduated from the Faculty, 1,210 of who have aquired their Masters, and 450 their PhD’s. There are currently 7,900 students and 394 professors and associates at the Faculty.

The curriculum
There are 13 subjects and 29 study groups at the Faculty of Philology. The curriculum of basic studies comprise the following subjects: Serbian Language and Literature, Serbian Language and Literature with General Linguistics, Serbian Language and Literature with General Literature, Serbian Literature and Language, General Literature and the Theory of Literature, Oriental Philology, Library and Informatics Studies, General Linguistics, in addition to the following foreign languages courses: Bulgarian, Russian, Polish, Czech, Slovakian, Italian, French, Spanish, Romanian, German, Scandinavian languages, English, Arabic, Turkish, Japanese, Greek, Hungarian, Dutch and Ukrainian.

The period of Basic studies is four years (eight semesters). There are also specialist, MA and PhD studies offered by the Faculty. The number of examinations is between 13 and 31, depending on the course. All examinations are taken in both written and oral forms, in January, April, June, September and October. The conditions governing enrollement for the following year are set down in accordance with the General Acts of the Faculty.

Pre-examination tasks
Student’s pre-examination tasks are: a pass in partial examinations, seminars and practice: obligatory for foreign philologies.

Study facilities and equipment
All departments and some study groups, have their own libraries managed by professional librarians, reading rooms and computer equipped classrooms.

The faculty also has its own specialized bookshop,”Philologist”, at Knez Mihailova 40

A student bookshop,where all the required books,workbooks and lecture notes can be obtained is located in the lobby

The Language laboratories, especially the Japanese (50 seats) and the Chinese (24 seats), are considered the best-equipped internet classrooms at Belgrade University

Student organisations and associations
The Student organisations protect and promote the rights and interests of students, as well as their standard and seek to improve the quality of teaching at the Faculty.

General information
The Faculty of Philosophy is the oldest faculty of Belgrade University. The history of the Faculty dates back to 1838, when the Ministry of Education and Clergy established it as an Institute for Higher Education. In 1973 the Faculty moved from Captain Misa`s Building to a new building situated between Vasina and Cika Ljubina.
To date,14,819 students have graduated from the Faculty which offers a 4 year basic studies course. There are currently 4.200 students at the Faculty.

The curriculum
The curriculum comprises the following study groups: Psychology, Pedagogy and Adult Pedagogy (2nd floor), Philosophy and Sociology (3rd floor), History of Art and Archaeology (4th floor), History and Anthropology with Ethnology (5th floor).There is also a Department of Classical Science situated in the Building of the Rectorate (2nd floor,to the right) which has a number of classrooms, a library and professors’ studys.
The period of basic studies is 4 years (8 semesters). The examinations are single or multi-semestered, depending on the study group and are taken in January, June, June(2), September and September(2). The total number of examinations, for Basic studies, varies from 14 to 28 and also depends upon the study group. Conditions for entering the next academic year are set in accordance to the General Acts of the Faculty.

General information
The University of Belgrade Faculty of Physics opened as an independent Faculty in 1995, the subject had previously been a department The Faculty of Natural and Mathematic studies. On average, 50 students graduate annually from the Faculty. There are currently 500 students studying at the faculty and 71 Professors and associate academic staff.

Curriculum
The period of Basic studies is 4 years or 8 semesters and the tuition programme is divided into 6 subjects: General Physics, Theoretical and experimental Physics, Practical Physics and informatics, Meteorology, Physics and the basis of Technics and Physics and Chemistry. The Faculty also organizes postgraduate studies for specialist, Master and Doctorate studies. The studies are divided into 12 courses. The practice work is held in 33 different laboratories. First and second year lectures are held at Cara Dušana 13, while the lectures for third and fourth year studies, are held at Studentskom trgu.

Pre-examination tasks
Sudents are obliged to attend all lectures and practice in order to certify the semester or year. In addition, as a pre-examination requisite, students must provide proof of their regular attendance at colloquium, seminars, practice sessions and have passed the required tests. The study plan also allows for professional practice for third and fourth year students, The examinations are in the form of oral, written and practice and number between 25 and 35 depending upon the course. They take place in; January, June, July, September and October.

Student facilties and equipment
The Faculty is divided into two Institutes one of Physics and the other Meteorology. There is an extensive library of books, periodicals and other publications which is divided amongst three locations; at Studentskom trgu, Cara Dušana and Dobracinoj 16. Each library has a reading room and there are also two computer centres located at Dobracinoj 16 and at Studentskom trgu.
There are two student's clubs – Hacienda and VHA.

Students associations and organizations
The Student's Union is syndicated to all the students associations that promote and protect the rights and interests of the students and represents the students before the Faculty, they also actively involved in organizing cultural entertainment and sporting events in addition to other activities.
