General
information
The Faculty of Organizational Sciences was founded
in 1969 and is the only faculty in Serbia which deals systematically
and thoroughly with the subject of information systems and
management. By incorporating studies of both technical and
social-economic sciences, the Faculty is becoming increasingly
popular every year. 6,300 students have graduated from the
faculty, and at present there are 4,600 students and 111 professors,
assistant professors and associated professor members of the
Academic staff.

The curriculum
The period of basic studies is 4 years (8 semesters) divided
into four courses, optional upon completion of the first year
of studies: Information Systems and Technologies, Management,
Operational Management and Quality Management. From October
2005 tuition will be based on the new curriculum which is
being introduced. It defines all examinations as single semester
examinations. The number of examinations during the four years
of studies varies from 41 to 43, depending on the course.
Examinations, which are taken in January, February, June-July,
September and October, are both written and oral. Certain
examinations are taken through a number of partial examinations
Conditions governing enrollment for the following year is
set down in accordance with the General Acts of the Faculty.
Pre-examination Tasks
Students’ pre-examination obligations are: completion
of laboratory practice and project assignments.
Student facilities and equipment
There is a library containing a large selection of books and
publications, some 13,000 items, and a reading room.

The faculty is equipped with a computer centre with approximately
70 computers and is located in three separate rooms and is
available to students Monday to Friday from 8.00-19.00 hrs.
In addition there is another computer room, for individual
work, available to students 24 hours a day. The Faculty also
organizes Microsoft and Java certificate courses for students
at special prices.

may apply here for their examinations, certificates regarding
studying, examinations passed and to make applications for
halls of residence and student credit or grants.

Student organizations and associations
The Faculty of Organizational Sciences Student Alliance, in
addition to addressing the issues of tuition, examinations
and student standard, also organizes a variety of sporting
and cultural activities and student excursions.

information
Studies of Political Sciences date back to 1960,
when The Grand School of Political Sciences was founded in
Belgrade. It was the first school of its kind in Eastern Europe.
In 1968, The Grand School evolved into The Faculty of Political
Sciences. A total of 6,673 students have graduated from the
faculty of whom, 825 were awarded MA degrees and 410 their
PhDs. At present, there are about 2,500 students. There are
82 professors, assistant professors and associate professor
members of the Academic staff.

The curriculum
The period of Basic studies is 4 years (8 semesters) divided
into four subjects: Journalism and Communications, Politics,
International Studies and Department of Social Politics and
Social Operations. Students choose between the four subjects
at the beginning of their basic studies. The number of examinations
during the four years of studies varies from 31 to 35, depending
on the course. Examinations are taken in January, April, June,
September and October and are both written and oral or, through
practical assignments. Conditions for entering the next academic
year are set in accordance to the General Acts of the Faculty.
Pre-examination Tasks
In order to certify the semester or year, students must attend
all lectures and practices, and fulfil a number of additional
pre-examination tasks, such as passing partial examinations
and tests and handing in seminar papers.

There is an extensive library, containing an impressive selection
of books and publications; some 103,000 items (60,000 books),
and a 115 seater reading room.

Student organizations and associations
The Faculty of Political Sciences Student Alliance and Student
Union, in addition to a number of other student organizations,
address the issue of the protection of student’s interests.
They communicate with the management of the Faculty on behalf
of the students. These organizations are very active in the
organization of a variety of sporting and cultural activities
and student excursions. The Faculty of Political Sciences
Student Union places great emphasis on the importance of international
cooperation and has organized a number of seminars, panel
talks and similar activities. The sports section is also available
as a part of the Student Alliance. There is also The United
Nations Club and the editorial office of the student’s
newspaper called “Politikolog”.

information
The Faculty of Sport and Physical Education has been
a part of the University of Belgrade since 1963. However,
this institution dates back to 1939, when a College of Physical
Education was founded and offered one-year courses. In 1946,
The State Institute of Body Culture, located in Deligradska,
was opened. 4,500 students have graduated from the faculty,
and at present, there are 2,500 students and 58 professors,
assistant professors and associate professor members of the
Academic staff.

The curriculum
The period of basic studies is 4 years (8 semesters). On admission,
students have a choice of two courses: Physical Education
or Sport. The number of examinations during the four years
of study is 31 for Sport or 36 for Physical Education. At
the end of their basic studies, students must complete their
final thesis. Examinations, taken in January, April, June,
September and October, are both written and oral and through
practical assignments. Conditions governing enrollment for
the following year are set down in accord with the General
Acts of the Faculty. There are certain examinations which
can not be transferred from one year of studies to the next.
The new Curriculum emphasizes the importance of sports facilities
tuition and practical examinations. Most of the tuition is
organized in a renovated Faculty Sports Hall, which is used
for practical lectures. The Faculty is also home to The Medical
Research Laboratory, which is used for the purposes of testing
of athletes and educational research.

The Student Alliance and Students Union address the issues
of the protection and promotion of student’s interests
and rights and represents them before the Faculty Authorities,
it also organize a variety of cultural and sporting activities
including tournaments etc.
