General information
As long ago as 31st March 1937, the Faculty of Economics was first established as The Graduate School for Economy and Trade, by a decree of the Ministry of Education for the former Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It was originally located at Balkanska 4 but was moved in 1953 to a new building at Kamenicka Street 6, where it is located today. To date, 36,145 students have graduated from the Faculty of which, 1,970 were awarded a Masters degree and over 695 a PhD . The Faculty offers a 4 year course and there are currently 8,650 students at the Faculty. The Faculty employs 127 professors, assistant professors and associates.

The curriculum
There are six subjects and nine courses (modules) at the Faculty of Economics. The curriculum of undergraduate studies comprises the following courses: Economic analysis and policy, Marketing, Accounting, Auditing and Financial management, Trade and Commerce, Finance, Banking and Insurance, Tourism and Hotel Industry, Statistics and Informatics, Management and International Economics and Foreign Trade. The first three semesters are the same for all the students regarding syllabus design and teaching format and optional courses are chosen in the fourth semester. The number of examinations during the four years of studies varies from 29 to 32, depending upon the course taken. On succesfull completion of their studies and a pass in all examinations related to the course, taken in accordance to the syllabus, and the final examination, the graduate is awarded a Bachelor degree in Economics. All examinations, apart from those related to foreign languages, are one-semestered.

Pre-examination tasks
Examinations are taken in January and February, on completion of the winter semester and in and in June and July, on completion of the summer semester September and October. Student’s pre-examination obligations are: a pass in partial examinations (which is compulsory only in January and June) and one seminar paper per school year. The conditions governing enrollement for the following year are set down in accordance with the General Acts of the Faculty.

Study facilities and equipment
An extensive library, containing 50.000 publications is located on the mezzanine between the two floors and a 100-seater reading room is on the 4th floor.

A computer centre is located on the 2nd floor in room 202. In addition to lectures, courses for students are organised at the centre, which boasts 3 auditoria, one of which, is always available to students.

General information
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering was founded in 1948, although its history dates back to 1894, when tuition was held at University of Belgrade.The Faculty uses the entire1st Floor, a part of the basement and part of the top floor of the Faculty of Technology Building. The administration offices are housed in the pavilion between the Faculty of Technology Building and Mechanical Engineering Faculty building. There are also offices at the Institute of Physics and in the Faculty of Geology and Mining. The pavilion was renovated in 2005 and there are some new, modern laboratories. 15, 321 engineers have graduated from the Facultyl since its foundation, including 1,800 MEs and 500 PhDs. At present there are 3,866 students.The academic staff comprises 170 professors, assistant professors and associate professors.

The new curriculum
A new curriculum was introduced in 2005. The period of basic studies is four years (8 semesters) instead of the previous five year course. According to statistics 10% of all students graduated from the School on schedule and 70% in 6.6 years. In 2003 six courses were introduced. During the first two semesters all the students are required to do the compulsory course, upon completion of which they have the choice of six courses. The optional courses are: Electonics, Physical Electonics, Telecommunications, Power Engineering, Computer Science and Automatic Control. Software Engineering was introduced in 2004 and students can attend the studies but, at their own expense. The courses are chosen by the students in their first year. The number of examinations and selection of elective subjects depends upon the course, but one fact is common for all the subjects: they are all single-semester.

Pre – examination tasks
The total value of undergraduate is 240 ECTS points. Most of the subjects have a value of 5 or 6 ECTS points, there are some tasks, such as practical work, which have a value of 2 or 3 ECTS points. Examinations are taken in January, February, June, September and October. Conditions for entering the next academic year are set in accordance to the General Acts of the Faculty.

There is an extensive library, containing a fine selection of professional publications, some 20,000 items.
Located in Room 83a; it is intended for third year and senior students.

A computer centre, located in the pavilion, is one of the best computer centres in University of Belgrade.

Student organizations and associations
At present there are five student organizations –Student Alliance, Student Union, EESTEC LK Belgrade, BEST and Sports Union called Electrician. There is a computer centre at SUETF with ten computers, that are available, free, to students of the Technical Faculties.

The students Club is a popular place and is located in the basement. Apart from the parties, concerts and masked balls that are organized by the Club, students can also buy cinema tickets, net time magazines and CDs at the ticket office.

General information
The University Of Belgrade Faculty Of Civil Defence is part of the group of faculties which teaches social sciences. Its curriculum combines theoretical, political, judicial, economic, ethical, humanitarian, civil and military aspects of security, defence and the protection and preservation of the environment. In addition to undergraduate studies, the Faculty also organizes postgraduate, master and PhD studies. It was founded in 1975/76, evolving from a former department, called The Institute of People’s Defence part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. In 1978, the institution became an independent Faculty and in 2000 it changed its title to The Faculty of People’s Defence. A total of 3,477 students, 131 MAs and 42 PhDs have graduated from the faculty. There are 45 professors, assistant professors and associate professor members of the Academic staff.

The curriculum
The period of basic studies is 4 years (8 semesters) divided into four courses: Human and Social Resource Management, Civil Defence, Civil Protection and Environmental Protection and Preservation. In relation to current changes in local and global issues of security, educational reforms and in the interests of our society, the Faculty has organized three year studies of Security Management.

Pre-examination Tasks
Students must attend all lectures and practices, and hand in seminar papers.

There is a library containing a large selection of books and publications, some 3,600 items, and a reading room.
