General
information
The University of Belgrade Faculty of Teacher Training,
was founded in 1993, although the education of teachers has
a 180-year-old tradition.The origin of the Faculty is the
Pedagogic Academy that was founded in 1972, in Belgrade which
during its two decades educated 1,000 teachers. Since the
opening of the current Faculty 700 students have graduated
and from 2000/2001 postgraduate master studies were offered.
The Faculty has two teaching centres outside Belgrade, in
Vršac and Novi Pazar. There are currently 1,170 students
and 65 members of the academic staff.

The curriculum and pre-examination tasks
The Faculty offers a unique tuition plan, which comprises
a single course without divisions or seperate courses. Basic
studies last for 4 years (8 semesters). Attendence at lectures
and practice is compulsory in order to certify the semester
or year. Mandatory, pre- examination requirements are; partial
examinations, professional practice and completion of projects.
The curriculum includes professional practice classes for
all students. Examinations are taken in written, oral or/and
practial form, in: January, April, June, September and October.
The conditions for entering the next academic year are set
in accordance to the General Acts of the Faculty. There are
conditional examinations that can not be transferred to the
next year of studies.
Study facilities and equipment
The library is located on the third floor, room III-3. It
contains 19.500 books. Searches of the library fund may be
done by computer. Within the library there is the reading
room with about 40 seats.
Working hours: 9.00-18.00 hrs Monday to Friday. The student
bookshop is on the ground floor, room 15. A computer-equipped
classroom, on the second floor, room 28, is primarily used
in teaching, but students are free to use the computers when
classes are not being held. In the basement and on the top
floor of the building there is the Student club: working hours:
8.00 – 15.00.
Student services

The person in charge is Mrs Zorica Smiljanic. Working hours:
11.00-13.00hrs from Monday to Friday.
Student organizations and associations
These organizations promote and protect the interests and
rights of students and represents them before the Faculty
Authorities, they also promote and provide information about
cultural and entertainment events.
