STIPENDIUM AND CREDIT
Each
year, the Republic of Serbia‘s Ministry of Education
and Sport offers credit facilities, from their financial budget,
to 18,000 students from all over Serbia. The offer is open
to first-year university students and is also open to 2nd
to 6th year students who have not failed a year’s course
and who fulfill other conditions. The list of applicants is
ranked according to; the pass marks achieved by the 1st year
students in high school, the university marks gained by the
other students and the income of the parents of the applicant.
Student credits are given in 10 monthly increments. After
their graduation the recipient of the credit facility may
be required to repay all of the credit, part of it or none,
depending on their results.
University students and postgraduate students who have achieved
outstanding results and who have been financed by the Republic
of Serbia Ministry of Education and Sport, may apply for a
stipendiary from the Ministry. Students may only apply for
this stipendiary if they have passed their previous year’s
course with a total score of 8.50 or higher. Applications
may be made by all second to sixth year university students
and postgraduate students who are not in full-time employment.
Applications for a stipendiary or credit from the Ministry
should be made from 1st to 31st October 2005. The application
should be submitted to the Student office of the student’s
faculty. All information regarding applications for credit

Each year, talented students who are in their III, IV, V,
and VI year of studies, may apply to the Belgrade City Authority,
who also offer a stipendiary to students whose families live
in Belgrade and who have an average mark of above 9.2. and
have never failed a years course. Applications should be made
in November or December and stipendiarys are awarded for a
calender year from the following January until December.
In addition to awarding a stipendiary to talented students,
Belgrade City Authority also offer a stipenidiary to Invalid
students. All students whose families live in Belgrade and
who have not failed more than one year of their university
course may apply. A medical certificate, stating whether the
applicant has 1st 2nd or 3rd category of invalidity is required.
Other students who have medical certificates showing that
they have a history of diabetes, carcinoma, epilepsy, or are
recieving kidney dialysis may also apply. Information regarding
such stipendiarys may be obtained from the Office of Social
and Child protection.
Each year, The University of Belgrade offers a hundred stipendiarys,
as a reward to its top students. This financial aid is only
offered to the best students and is funded by various sponsers.
Application should be made from October and further information
is available from the Belgrade University office of Sponsorship
and Foundations.
A stipendiary is also offered, from time to time, by amongst
some; Embassies, large commercial enterprises and the King’s
fund of the House of Karadordevic.
| Commercial banks are increasingly offering to assist
students to finance their studies. Before you sign any
credit agreement take great care to be certain that you
have read and fully understood the terms and conditions
of the loan, especially the rate of interest and number
of repayments. |
